This is a work from the “Yokai Yashiki (Specter House) on PINK Roof” exhibition currently being held at Junie Moon Daikanyama until September 22 (Sun.), 2024. The tail of a long-lived pet cat splits in two and becomes a yokai called “Nekomata (cat). It is said that the cat dances at night wearing a hand towel saying “Nekoja, nekoja, nekoja! The materials used for the work are German mohair and suede, and the eyes are acrylic eyes made in Italy, The eyes are made of German mohair and suede, the eyes are acrylic eyes made in Italy, and 2mm diameter wires are used for the arms and tail to allow for free posing. Paw pads are also attached to all four paws. The weight is 630g and a little heavy due to the acrylic cotton and pellet grains in the body. The body height is approximately 30 cm from the sitting position and 50 cm from the ears to the tip of the tail. Youkai Nekomata, who sticks out his tongue with an open mouth, is available at our store! Please come and see it. |
